2000 zr 500 problem

when just starting off and to about half throttle it seem to lose power intermitently. By power I mean it is like the kill switch is being shut off and on. once at about half to 3/4 throttle if I punch it it takes off and runs great.
I syncronized and adjusted the carbs. But I don't think it is a fuel problem. It seems like an electrical problem. Some one sugested that it might be the magnet pickups in the slides of the carbs. Has this ever happened to any one. It's got me confused. any help would be apprieciated.

does your carbs have the magnents in them? is there a small two wire connector on each carb? is so bypass them and see if it fixes it.

Yes it does have the magnets in the carbs and I will give it a try. Thanks

Unplug the wires from the carbs and jumper the the plugs to themselves.

it could be in your thumb throttle, lots of sleds have them, its a safety, theres 2 little pins in there and if 1 aint working right it will do that.

There is also a throttle pin bushing that is plastic and wears out $1 part.

Dollars to donuts ^^^ thats your problem! A ZL 500 I was working on had the same problem. Unplug the safety switch inside the handle bar padding and take it for a ride to see if it still does it!

I unplugged the wires going to the carbs and tied them into each other, on the carb side, and it runs like a charm. Thank for all the help.
