Old wetjet worth anything?
2 Attachment(s)
I found this fucker lurking in the bushes yesterday. Think it's worth anything? Looks to be in great condition, except the kid took the engine in for scrap steel. So there is no engine, but EVERTHING else is there. I almost loaded it into my truck but figured I'd see if it was even worth anything first.

That doesn't look like the wejet's I've seen.... roll it over and take a pic of the jet/rideplate.

Gotmud 05-04-2009 02:36 PM

I'll have to go take more pictures of it. It's almost flat underneath, kinda like a trihull boat. I sent both you and slanteye pics yesterday from my phone, didn't know if one of you may be interested in in.

Hey, they used to manufacture the Wetjets in Paynesville, MN. They'd test ride every one of them around our lake before they shipped them out. Every hour or so, two more of them would show up and ride all the way around the whole shoreline. Then they'd go and get another load of them. My cousins always called them "snowmobiles." I guess they do look quite a bit like snowmobiles.

Gotmud 05-05-2009 07:37 AM

The engine was almost the same as a snowmobile too. I still can't believe he threw it away!! The coupler where the engine hooked to the driveshaft is all that was wrong with it when he pulled the engine. Engine sat on the shelf for a few years and he decided to take it for scrap last summer when scrap prices were insane.

Since you guys are all talking jetskis I thought I'd bring this thread back. It's still hiding in the weeds where I found it. I'll bet my indy400 engine would fit in it?

stagesrt4 04-09-2010 09:50 AM

looks more like something you would drag behind ski for the kids lol

Gotmud 04-09-2010 09:52 AM

After looking at the pictures again, I may go pick it up this weekend. May be a fun project.

stagesrt4 04-09-2010 09:53 AM

The Dragon is gonna spend the summer stored on the showroom floor of our local polaris dealer.

MrSnowman 04-11-2010 08:57 PM

Gotmud 04-12-2010 09:46 AM

Throttle is on the back side of the handlebar, finger buttons. I didn't pick it up but I think I'm going to. It's at my uncles and I told him not to let anyone take it.

Dirty_Harry 04-12-2010 10:43 AM

$10 says it sits in your clusterfuck garage and nothing gets done to it.

Oh and I hate to break it to you....but that thing doesnt look like it would float with either of our fat asses on it.

Thank you,
Dirty Harry

Brian Lee 04-12-2010 05:46 PM

Gotmud 04-13-2010 08:01 AM

It's an old racing ski from the 80s, I'm sure it would be worth something restored. And as for the beer bottles in my garage lol, it's not totally cleaned yet but there are no bottles all over anymore lol.

Brian Lee 04-13-2010 08:07 AM

We may have to fix that next time sir LOL

Gotmud 04-13-2010 08:47 AM

Brian Lee 04-13-2010 07:16 PM
