Unless you have a boot from disk rescued disk. you will have to wipe, remove partition, set new partition, reformat, and reinstal.

I've only had to wipe once before, and that was a looooooong time ago.

Use someone else's machine, download Ccleaner, Spybot s&d, SUPERAntispyware, and Malwarebytes anti-malware. Run them on the infected machine, it should get you somewhat close to done. After they're run, go to and run Housecall. It's a free online virus scanner.

THANK YOU IBS! the super antispywere worked,i think its been about 15 minutes and no signs of that pain in the ass

You're not out of the woods yet. Did you run everything in the order I told you to?
After you do, you need to update windows.

Computer people:

I hate my stupid Norton antivirus and I don't want to pay $50 this year so my machine has the privelage of running slow and sucking balls all over town. Any other alternatives out there? If so, what do they cost and how effective are they? I do some work from home, but generally don't open things that look suspicious, so it probably doesn't have to be cutting edge.

Thank you in advance for any help!

This is what I have on the comp at work, free version works just fine.
Then get ZoneAlarm for a free firewall.

I don't have antivirus installed. Trendmicro is free and not on my machine so it can't get infected. AVG is a free alternative that I've heard good things about.

I removed all of them and use Windows Live One Care, seems to work OK except for the Iframe.Exploit warning I keep getting from here...........

I like the ones that I listed because they do not have "nag screens" that keep asking you to buy it.
