1977 Polaris Colt SS

What's it worth in mint condition?

mach1 10-22-2009 08:56 AM

$200

Gotmud 10-22-2009 09:12 AM

lol for real?

Powersledder 10-22-2009 09:17 AM

You find that one on craigslist too?

Gotmud 10-22-2009 11:07 AM

Yea lol about 25 miles from me.

OCR 10-22-2009 11:43 AM

Depends on what motor it has in it too.

Ibreakstuff 10-22-2009 06:09 PM

First sled I ever rode. Unfortunately not too fast, either the 295 or 340. Definately not int he "TX" class, but still fun.

OCR 10-22-2009 06:44 PM

The 340FA SS (star motor)with 6 bolt head ran almost as much hp as the standard 440.
Still only hit 70 on hard pack, but got there very quickly.

CWPottenger 10-22-2009 07:22 PM

I have a 80 Polaris TX-C 340 and it doesn't weigh hardly anything Damm things are so light didn't need big motors to get them moving quick.

OCR 10-22-2009 07:34 PM

Had one of those, top speed of 80+ on hard pack with temps of -20.
Not too bad of a ride either.

mud_shark86 10-22-2009 07:49 PM

I had a 77 340 colt ss that I bought for $100..it was in rough shape but i dropped another motor in it and fixed the bonet and it ran great for 3 years. It had the 333 motor in it. Tough little sled. Cleated track...Slides never stuck...great little machine.

come on 80mph from a 340 what are you smoking, your lucky to hit 40 down hill with one of them. you must of been pulled from a 800 xcr

OCR 10-23-2009 08:59 AM

Believe it or don't, it's the truth.
Must be you stopped reading at 80mph.
It also says hard pack and -20 degrees.

Polaris1man 10-23-2009 10:02 AM

Mud, if you buy, got to restore it, take it to a show, people pay money for those

Gotmud 10-23-2009 10:29 AM

I've been watching for a nice 70s polaris to restore. But it's gotta be a polaris and I'd like something that'll be worth money when I'm done, not something that's a dime a dozen.

Dirty_Harry 10-23-2009 12:43 PM

Should have bought the intruder....

Even if you pry that TXL Indy away from IBS, that has money written on it. I believe said it was an 1981 vintage, or if you find one the first IFS Indy 340's made in 1980, there were 500 made for the I-500 Race.

OCR 10-23-2009 03:15 PM

i know where there is one of those.

CWPottenger 10-23-2009 05:13 PM

Centurions have good value also...

Search the selling price of Intruders dipshit, I made the right decision. I'll keep my eyes open, I really want some vintage.

Ibreakstuff 10-24-2009 05:12 PM

Better go take a look at that Blue, it *may* be a 77. If it is, it's a nice piece of history/machinery.

mach1 10-24-2009 06:39 PM
