Slednutz Race Team

I've thought about this before and think that the "core" group of us here would not have a problem donating $5 or $10 to a race fund to those that are serious about getting into a couple of races. DooTalk has this sort of thing and it seems they do pretty good with it. So what do you think? You guys probably know by now that I don't have much money to throw around, and I'm probably in debt deeper than most of you(mortgages included) but for something like this I can spare the extra $10 or even $20 to help a friend.

For example, wolfie wants to hit up a couple more dirtbike races this summer. So say 10 of us throw in $10 each, that's $100 for her to get her AMA membership and pay some fees. Then we just gotta make sure someone gets her some SN stickers for her bike and her "pit vehicle"

Another example would be to make sure Gotmud gets enough SN stickers and beer to bring his son over to Haydays to race.

MrSnowman 06-05-2010 11:27 PM

I would be down and if these stickers ever get made I have many toys to throw them on to get the site out and get people to visit

Not sure that you'all'd want my racing skills (mostly lack thereof) associated with Slednutz. My competition damnnear all has 2.5 times the engine displacement that I do, and I'm just a weekend warrior princess, so I show up and run back half of the pack, on a small circuit on some really small tracks, or take [it] up the rear. :)

I won't say no, but I figured that there should be no misleading ideas or rumors as to the fact that I'm not fast, or even remotely talented on a bike. I'm just out there screwing around. :)

Powersledder 06-06-2010 01:37 AM

1st, we all know you and Jason like it in the pooper.

2cnd, even coming in last means your still doing better than most of the people here. you're actually out there racing.

CWPottenger 06-06-2010 11:05 AM

I'm in as long as it goes to the sport ie: (parts, fees, gear, etc.) and we get pictures and at least a small writeup of the days events.

cuzzinolaf 06-06-2010 11:15 AM

Danny is a professional racer. We should look into sponsoring him.

Brian Lee 06-06-2010 01:42 PM

Since this is Slednutz, why dont we do something with someone who grass, ice, asphalt or crosscountry's there sled??? Im not against bikes or quads. Just asking why we dont keep it sled related. Im good for a 20spot either way.

I agree.

MrSnowman 06-06-2010 07:36 PM

someone help build one of my sleds and ill race the shit out of it!!

Brian Lee 06-06-2010 09:42 PM

If you were to do any of your sleds i would start with the rxl. But the reality is htat if your grass or ice draggs, you need heller cc's and lotts of money. I checked into a motor and good Lord. But i do know where there is a thunder cat modded ready to ice or grass drag. I believe 9 grand would take it. It has the best of everything. Its a strickly race/drag sled tho.

MrSnowman 06-06-2010 10:51 PM

well I don't have that kind of cash would rather throw it to either a down payment on a house or another dodge srt4 that I want. I would rather take my rxl and build from ground up plus I get better satisfaction of building and racing something I built not someone else's project

CWPottenger 06-07-2010 12:24 AM

^^ especially a Cat project....

DirtylilWolfess 06-07-2010 12:54 AM

I will have to see what happens later on this year regarding sleds. If I manage pick one up for cheap before winter starts, there's a small chance I'd enter a race or two in Glyndon just for shits and giggles to see how I like it.

Gotmud 06-07-2010 08:04 AM

I'm not looking for handouts but I normally keep everyone updated on our summer ATV drag racing. As a matter of fact I spent all day Saturday cleaning our quads up, gave oil changes, and adjusted valve clearances. Just to have the fuckin races called off Sunday because there was a foot of water on the track from Saturday nights storms. Our next scheduled race is June 27th and I'll make a thread with a writeup on how we did, even though Shane will do better than me lol.
We'll be racing at fall grassdrags as well, hopefully even at haydays as Poopersledder mentioned. Shane will be grassdragging his wicked 120, I'm still unsure if I'm going to build a dragsled out of the RXL.

Brian Lee 06-07-2010 10:22 AM

Rich if you do, i got the stock 8inch suspention for a drag project. also the front suspension to go with it if you need it. The track is in good shape that came off the Storm if ya need it?

Gotmud 06-07-2010 12:03 PM

I have just about everything to finish it. The holdup is I don't think it would be competitive enough, I've got my eye open for a race sled. As Dirty_Harry will chime in, my RXL is a POS and shouldn't be reassembled.:bitchdrama:

Brian Lee 06-07-2010 01:16 PM

But Harry cant decide weather he wants a Doo or a Poo, he's confused and gotta be sore from straddling the fence hahahahha, That Cat i mentioned was built by the local Cat/Polaris dealer. His son ran it, but isnt racing anymore. The Cat aint a project, its a complete ready to race sled. Hes also got a Doo mod sled. Its a 700 as i remember. I believe the Cat is runns in the improved stock class.

MrSnowman 06-07-2010 01:17 PM

And if thats true and you have decent parts i will be talking to you about then once i finish my first sled project ha

Brian Lee 06-07-2010 11:01 PM

you got it bro, the parts are free to someone wanting to race.

Kevin Garceau 06-12-2010 03:12 PM

With the support I got...you know I will throw some back.

The Baller 06-19-2010 04:26 AM

I am planning to race from MN to Brian's place in IL this winter I will accept sponsorships and donations.

Gotmud 06-19-2010 09:43 AM

I'll sponsor you Baller. Just wear the rainbow colored snowsuit Slanteye has for the whole trip and I'll fill your tank once.:gaywave:

Y'know...I love the name of that wavey smiley thinger.

I would throw in a little jing towards Baller's "race" (trip) if I end up having any spare jing at the time.
