mikuni bn carb question

on my js 550 ski I was told on pwc that this carb is not stock(wonderful just my luck) anyways there are three settings finally got to sit on here and research to help understand more of what is going on with them to try and tune it so I can run it better.

Can anyone tell me witch needle is the the low-middle-top range adjustment screw? one is on the throttle side and other to are on the other side.

It runs and idles great but mid blows and top end isn't there seems to be flooding it so as long as I know witch ones witch I can better tune it.

All help is greatly appreciated guys:thumbss:

If you really want to LEARN carb tuning instead of just doing what someone tells you, buy Olav Aaen's carb tuning handbook. But I'm not familiar with the BN carbs and if they are like other Mik carbs?

Try shopsbt.com as they have rebuild instructions for the bn carbs. Pretty sure when I looked at the sbn guide it told you what everything was, plus they have photos.

Then for tuning help try heading over to x-h2o and go to the tech section. They have one or 2 articles and I beleive the PDF for the performance tuning for sbn which I would think should help some. If they don't have it and you want it let me know and I'll look because I beleive I do. Also you can find alot of the owners guides and shop books there.

as far as I have read it shows this is about the same but has a mid range adjustment witch I was told is not what is really needed and this carb doesn't give the full potential of the engine with this carb. but I'm doing what I can with what I have sense finances are low

I figured you had a standard BN carb on there.

One screw is the idle, the other two are high and low mixture. Bottom screw is low rpm, top screw is high rpm.

ur just a wealth of good information ha.

I've had no luck with standup but I've completely assembled Seadoo motor. Just gotta trace down a leak in hull/boot then drop it in

Don't quote me on what I said, I don't have a lot of experience with the BN's - just the SBNs.
