New toy for commuting!

I spent $100 fueling my truck a couple weeks ago and got pissed off, started looking for a motorcycle. I looked at alot of used bikes but the only bike I really liked they wanted too much for it. I ended up going to the Harley-Davidson dealer and snagged a kick ass deal on a new bike. Ended up getting it OTD for less than the asking price of some of the used ones I looked at, so I couldn't really turn it down.

2011 Harley-Davidson Dyna Fatbob. Had 7 miles when I bought it, now has just over 400. I've only had to fill it twice, $16 and change both times! :woohoo:

I'm not a fan of Harleys, but I've never ridden on a nice one.

Either way, I'm stoked you got a bike! They kick ass!

Powersledder 05-03-2011 08:45 AM

When you gonna buy me one?

Gotmud 05-03-2011 08:45 AM

My whole family rides Harleys, shit 2 of my cousins are Harley master techs. So of course I got one too. I did look at Victory and Triumph bikes, but they just didn't do it for me. I didn't even consider a jap bike, they just dont hold their value like a Harley does.

It's on order Bill. I'll just make automatic deductions from your $5 an hour once you start.

Very nice. We need to get together sometime this summer for a ride. The offer to join us to Sturgis still stands if you want. Riding there and back and camping while out there. Will be an inexpensive trip if you can afford the time away and momma says ok.

Sweet bike Mud.......thanks for buying American!

If I didnt think I would kill myself riding one ,I would buy one also! Since fuel prices are so high now, I have resorted to driving the Pontiac Grande Am.

Gotmud 05-03-2011 09:59 AM

Thanks guys, I'm loving the bike so far.:thumbss:

I've already mentioned it to Missy, I've actually been invited with another group as well lol. Unfortunately it happens to be during a busy time that I just won't be able to pull a whole week off work.:showletter:

Nice bike, Mud. You gotta make the Harley UP ride this summer. I'll be renting a Harley but there will be a few Jap bikes so Rock can't go.

Gotmud 05-03-2011 07:05 PM

Tell me more dude, how long of a UP trip? I might be interested in something like that. I'm actually suppose to ride up to the UP July 6th for a couple days, I'd love to do another ride like that but through Wisconsin.

Haha! We're going up July 7th through the 10th. Last year we had about 15 bikes total... this year more. I think we're meeting in Marquette with the other group and heading east. You could do a circle tour of Lake Michigan.

I would if I had it because I am THAT secure.

Rubi 05-03-2011 09:39 PM

Sometimes I wish I could do stuff in the summer. Oh well, maybe I'll get the 4th of July off this year....

I wouldn't be afraid to take a Miata for a spin. Looks like a fun little car.

Thats funny they are the same dates lol. There is talk of going all the way around Lake Michigan as they did last year.

Andy will chime in.. but we had a blast last year. I can't wait for this ride.

Gotmud 05-04-2011 08:22 AM

If it weren't for already having plans I'd be on it. My uncle rides from California every year and the family goes up to the UP for the weekend. So I'll at least be there somewhere lol.

cuzzinolaf 05-04-2011 11:37 AM

We can meet up. We'll be on the eastern side going towards the bridge, Soo, etc.

Gotmud 05-04-2011 12:22 PM

Might have to try that.:beerchug:

flatlander_summit 05-04-2011 01:05 PM

I feel sorry for you guys who have to fill a vehicle once a week with $4 gas for $100 bill. As soon as we get in the field, we'll be burning through 450+ gallons of fuel a day on the farm...
