Little Wolfie's First-est Raceday

Once upon a time, I was a badass little underdog rookie. Just stumbled on this kinda hilarious shot of myself a few minutes ago. I think I was 13 in this shot? Not sure. Notice that I have on one random leather glove, a brand new jersey (bad joojoo), jeans, and regular old work boots. Not to mention, I'm jumping the shit out of that XR100 I'm on, which happens to not be a race bike. The announcer pointed this out a lot, and then also pointed out the fact that I got the biggest air in the entire women's class.

"THAT'S DAMN GOOD AIR FOR *JUST* A *DIRT*BIKE!"

I might put that shit on my grave someday. Just my being there, and just that comment alone had left me with hometown hero status.

In the background in the pit stands is my dad, trying to look like he's not concerned. Beside the guy that took the picture (my bro), is my mom, and one of my aunts, and both of them were in tears at that point (scared to death, not joy or pride).

I got last. One of the happiest days ever!

I didn't race again for the next 5 years after that picture was taken. Now, I've missed a whopping two races in 5 seasons of racing.

I'm still an underdog, and it's a damn good life. :)

Very cool wolfie, I raced for 3 years in high school. Tore up my knee's pretty good and broke my should blade. Every morning I wake up now I am reminded of my days motor-crossing from my broken body. Always seems to bring a smile on my face, when the days were much simpler back then.

I rode with a girl that raced in the B class that was very fast, she usually beat my buddy and we would always rip on him for it. If I remember correctly she was really hot too.

What do you ride now?

I think there's more stuff in some other threads in this section.

I have an 01 CR250 modded for my height, and a new (well, 08) little CRF150RB thumper in the works for this coming summer too. :woohoo:

Seems like everyone is rocking the thumpers now.

Wolfie, do you have a set of boots yet? That is the most important thing next to a helmet.

If not, maybe we can all pool together and get you a decent set.

I have almost all the highest end gear, short of knee braces. I've been on 2 wheels a few more years than I've been on a track and skis. After a couple of wicked crashes, I don't fuck around with my gear. A 20 dollar neck (doughnut style) brace would've saved me over 1600 dollars in the hospital my second year racing. Now I have one (Leatt) that is worth about 300 dollars. Any time I land on my head hard enough to have a headache, I replace my helmet.

Carbon fiber helmet - highest end available as of last year
2nd highest end neck brace (it was the best available last year).
Good boob protector (well sorta, the boobs don't have great side coverage because well they aren't real small sized boobs) since they have already saved my vitals from multiple stick and rock stabbings.
Mid to kickass quality boots.
Decent abrasive resistant pants, jersey, and gloves.

I'm pretty well covered right now! :buttlove:

Good to hear.

Good Gear is always the best option for having fun...

Why dose it look like your going the wrong way? ;)

See the 150 is for sale. To big and heavy?

It's too hard to work on. :poosy:

Sizewise, it's the mid-frame.
