I've got quite a few. What number of teeth do you need?

stagesrt4 11-21-2014 12:00 PM

never swapped gears before so Im not sure

Im assuming i have stock 700 rmk gearing, so anything that drops me down

Currently gearing should be 25t & 40t if my memory serves me right

Do I need chain as well?

If you are going more than +/- 1 tooth, you need to change the chain.

I'll see if I can remember to dig up my old info but I found some good clutching/jetting/gearing set ups for my old RMK (before I started changing engine parts).

Also make sure you get the right width. You should have 15 wide chain and gears, earlier models at 13 wide.

I had a bunch of stuff somewhere, but must have lost it. TM40 mikuni carbs will help throttle response. Drop at least 2 teeth off the top gear and then this is what I was able to find for clutching.

First clutch setup
Primary: 10-62 Weights, Polaris Almond black spring
Secondary: Polaris R12 helix, Polaris silver/gray spring

Second clutch setup
Primary: 10-64 Weights, EPI Red spring
Secondary: Polaris R12 helix, Polaris silver/blue spring
