Default Waveblaster

Hey guys with all the activity in this section I figured I put this here.

Anyone have any experience with the Waveblasters? I've been looking for a standup and these look really interestting too. I haven't had a chance to go look at any of the standups I've been finding but might have a chance to go check one of these out this weekend.

It's a 1993 waveblaster that's stock and supposedly in very good shape. Compression is supposedly right on and the hull only has 2 minor cosmetic scratches. He's pretty firm at $1300. He's on Fox Lake.

Any opnions?
Thanks.

He and I had talked before but I was only really interested in the red one which I believe you bought.

Alot of the standups I saw around Chicago were really beat up. I was actually looking for atleast a 650, personal preference. There were a few decent ones but they were over priced or there was some shady stuff with the deals.

He was willing to move alittle on the price.

I believe the red one is for sale again, their deal fell through. May be worth it to get ahold of snowman?

yes ryan has the purple splash series and the red one for sale still

the red one is newer, but the purple is a nicer ski. Has all the bells and whistles and runs like a champ. and the exhuast pipe comes out the back...has title...

send me a pic of the waveblaster or is it on craigslist?

Ok well I'll have to get ahold of him. Yeah it's on CL 815 area code and has like 4 or 5 pictures. Comes up if you put it in as "wave blaster" I'll post a link around 1130 but I have to get to my 730 lab class now.

offer partial trades or just ask how low he will go before you buy

then ask if theres any other flaws you should know about. If he says no and there ends up being some, ask for more off....

Yeah $1100 is my target to get him to. I spent about 10 minutes talking and he seemed to be pretty honest about it. Answered all questions and was willing to let me take it out. My biggest problem I no trailer at home. Nothing to trade right now.

If I would sure you can try it.

I'll keep that in mind about the trailer. My dads truck has a hard bed top. My sable is too small but if length is ok maybe back of my moms Rav.

Yeah no one around me has a truck or the few guys that do all have hard tops.

Yeah I know, truck is on the list once the pharmacist money starts coming in.

I'll never forget the time a kid showed up at the dirtdrags with his atv on the top of his station wagon. A crowd formed rather quickly to see him unload it. To my extreme dissappointment his windshield did survive the unloading process lol.

Waveblasters are a blast to ride and I've seen some pretty gnarly tricks done on them. I have seen videos of guys doing backflips and barrel rolls on them. They are like a motorcycle on water and you can easily drag your elbow in a tight turn. They are a bitch to get on and balance if you fall off in deep water. Once you get it down you'll be OK but learning is not gonna be fun.

If you're looking for a stand-up I highly suggest you get an older SJ (even if it is a 650). 1994 and up had the 701 but aren't so easy to find. The 1990 SJ has the same hull as a 2006. If they didn't update it for that long something has to be good about it.

Yeah I've spent some time looking at the SJ and just can't see laying out the cash some people want. The ones that had what looked like a reasonable price were pretty beatup. There have been a few decry deals to me but because of school I coul get to them in time.
