Default help mercury 250 wiring

i need some help with my mercury 250 the trigger coil wires are bad this is the last part i need to get the sled running the coating is coming off the wires.

as i have heard his was a problem with the old mercury sled.
is there any thing out there to replace it or how do u fix the coil

please help love the sled cant wait to ride it

Replace the wires with new.

I have done all the wires. The only thing i can't replace is the trigger coil or the pick up coil on the flywheel. There is two wires in side of a grounding sheath. How do i fix it or what can i us to replace it. Would a pick up off a distributor work if so what one. my coil has two
pick up point on it and the distributor has only one but does have the two wires,
i have no idea what do

You can get replacement coils from Parts Unlimited.
A local small engine shop should be able to get them for you.

no one out there has any pickup coils for my sled if u how where i can get a pickup coil or trigger coil as it is call in the org manual
for a mercury 250 1970 let me know do remember the first mercury sled did not run points
it has a ing. switch box and the pickup is what tell the box when to fire. The pickup is bad and need one badly

i found a guy in wi that has them rebuilt but they are 135.00 with exchange
150 no exchange cool but not cheap but maybe i am just tit with money
haha thanks for all the help great site

the place is mill road off road it is in Fondulac wi he has al ot of vintage parts
