Default 500 xc sp running hott

my 2000 polaris 500 xc sp when its idling its running 800 to 1000 degrees according to my EGT sensors. it idles at 1400 rpms like it should and when you hit the throttle quick it will show 1500 degrees iv tried adjusting my air fuel screws and the fuel screws are 4 1/4 turns out and i even put a pair of #50 pilot jets in her and nothing really changed. i cleaned the carbs and blew them out with compressed air.
other then that she runs great, so any ideas??

thanks

That sounds normal to me? Did you just add EGT probes or is this different than years previous?

What is the stock jetting supposed to be and what is it at now?

Does it stay at 1500* or does it slowly go back down after it is at speed a bit?

i have had the EGTs for 3 years and she has never run this hott at idle and i didnt even do anything this year. she runs cool after 1800 rpms.

it only shows 1500 degrees for a quick second when i hit WOT from idle then it drops down to 300 degrees and runs strong

So, idle is 1400 and yet factory is usually 1800/2000.
Loading a bit at idle and then dumping partially burnt fuel right onto the probe will show a spike.

i was told factory idle is at 1400 rpms. it runs cool at 2000 rpms. that would explain why when i pull the plugs after letting it idle they are just soaked in gas.

so should i try turning the fuel screws in??

and put the smaller pilot jets in??
