Ok so my buddy bought this sled. It was a 440 race sled, with a 600 motor in it. I think the sled was like 2000 or 2001 ill double check. Ill try and find out what year the motor is out of. It has SLP twin pipes on it. I was gona look at SLP website to find jetting specs for it to be sure its jetted right for around here. However i am not seeing any twin pipes for any 600 twin arctic cats that are even around this year. Did they even make twin pipes for a 600 twin cat?? The carbs have 350 main jets in it. I cant see anything on the pilots. But its running like shit on idle and doesnt stay running. Sometimes have to keep the choke on to stay running and shit. It doesnt have an air box either, its got air filters unfortunately. Anyone have any input on this? I told him not to buy a cat. Hahaha
I am cleaning the carbs right now actually. Just wanted to double check the shit in the carbs before i put them back together. Theyre SLP pipes, it says right on the pipes. It sounds like stock jets for this motor would be 350's and that sounds like what SLP wants for these twin pipes. If i am even looking at the right thing, which i believe i am.
It has the info for the pipes at all elevations. The guy said it was jetted right for around here but who knows. This sled has had many different parts on it the way it sounds. He extended it to a 136, said it has different secondary spring and primary weights and who knows what else.
Well supposedly the motor came from a 2000. Im not seeing any twin pipe info on slp for a 600 twin in 2000. Only year its showing is 98. So im not sure what to do here. I know nothing on the cats so no idea if it would be the same motor in 98 and 2000 or what.
All I can say to him is good luck with twins on a sled, they make 'em touchy as hell.
BTW where the fawk you been dude?
Thats what i told him. I told him he might be better off finding a cheap stock pipe for the bitch.
Been around, just havent been on the site. Youll prolly be seeing me on more often now that the season is here.

Thats good to know. I would have never known since ive never messed with a cat before.

Thanks. As said, ive been around, same old shit for the most part. Just havent been on the sled sites.
So i took the carbs apart, cleaned them up. It seems to be better but that still wasnt great. We messed with the air screws or whatever a bit, seems like this is helping a little too. We will see what happens.
I think that with the slp pipes, it's good for about 15hp over the single pipe and does not make it any more finicky than stock unless it is jetted to the bleeding edge for performance.
Check air screw setting, best is 1 1/2 turn, +/- 1/8 turn and idle is best at 1800.
