Default sport port/race logic.

so i talked to john at race logic to make me a custom template for porting my 1000 top end. sent him some rough drawings and he sent me a template.

i have to say this was the best investment i could make. since my ports were all irregular shaped rough cast's i had no starting point to go off of for free hand really.

basically all you do is cover the cylinder bore with dykem, give it a minute to dry, put the template in place, trace the template and remove template. now you have clear lines to port to.
now i know i can have all 3 cylinders exactly the same from cylinder to cylinder. and on the ports themselves, thats important so the rings dont try to twist in the bore because one side of the port is closing a little before the other.

for the average trail sled guy that doenst want to sit down and figure port area and time vs wanted rpm to pipe size math, his premade templates are the way to go!

without a doubt i am very happy with this setup and would recomend it to anyone.

sorry, yes for the trail guy he has premade templates that you simply set in the cylinder, scribe the new openings and start cutting. very easy.
simply tell him the sled you have and how crazy you want to get with porting.

for me it was the template for raw casted cylinders that i was starting from scratch.
