Default Carb problem

I put a new Mikuni carb on a 74 Motoski Chimo and every time I start it revs up but when you give it gas or choke it, it dies and sounds like it is starving for fuel. Does anyone understand what might be wrong?

Is the fuel pump big enough to keep up with it?
I had a scorpion 340 CCW that is did this on and had to run a dual carb pump to keep enough fuel in it to run right.

I'll have to take a look, I recieved everything from a carb conversion kit I bought online. The carb is strange as well, Me and my dad have never seen a mikuni with a single adjustment scerw. But I'll give your Idea a try first. Thank you
