Default 2010 Drag Racing Results

Well our first drag races were Sunday so here I am to report the results. I'm going to keep updating this thread after every race so there won't be a bunch of threads, it'll all be together.

Well Shane raced in both the 90cc and 200cc classes and took 2nd in both. A 240cc big bored Blaster beat him in the 200cc class and that same nasty little 90cc 2 stroke beat him in the 90cc class. He was happy as a pig in shit and already can't wait for the next race.

I did take 2nd but still couldn't beat that 100# woman on a 700 raptor from last year. She just spanked my ass, but I have a little sumptin sumptin for her at the next race.
I did get to race Honda's new TRX700 for the first time. It was pretty modded with a wheely bar too, holy shit was it slow. He killed me outta the hole because it was muddy and I slid all over, still beat him to the finish line. The only quad that gave me a race was the 700 Rappy with the scrawny woman on it, and she beats me by 2.5 fuckin lengths lol. I guess the 30 pounds I've dropped isn't enough lol.

Oh and sorry, no pictures lol.

Yesterday was in Schoolcraft Michigan, Old Iron Motorcycle Club spronsors it. They have 6 races every year. We also go to Newaygo drags 4 times in fall, and various other drags within 50 miles throughout the summer.

I've never been to a mud drag, I know of one in Indiana but never wanted to drive that far to cover my shit in mud. We're not exactly set up for wet riding lol.

how long are the races?

if they have a 200cc class why did a 240 cc run against the boy?

can you gear down to gain any acceleration?

The races we attended Sunday were 400' drags. We also race in 300' and 500' drags. The race on Sunday doesn't do alot of tech. They spend the time to split up the Banshees into stock and non-stock classes but thats it. 150cc-248cc is a class. Just like my class is the 450cc 4 stroke class, 450cc and up all run in a class.

We've spent alot of time on the gearing for his quad and still playing with it. I have the right gearing for the 500' track but still tinkering with the smaller tracks. I want a timing system so I can really get them dialed in but I just don't have the money for it.

yea, i have been diming a brower timing system together, all i need is 400 dollars to finish it. very nice system but for drag testing it would be nice to have a tree hooked up to the timers to get reaction time and practice hitting the light.

is there any way you can hook up a throttle block, so while the clutch is held in the engine can olny rev so high in rpms, then when you release the clutch at the same time the engine goes to wide open? an electric stutter might be easy to wire in? in cars and sleds it makes a huge advantage over trying to move your hand.

Nah we missed the last race and don't have another till the end of August. Just about time to get ready for grass drags though.

The Newaygo races are snowmobile grass drags in fall, they normally have 2 of them. They added atv classes a few years ago. ATV classes are stock, improved, modified. A fast banshee can normally run in improved and modified classes.
newaygo county snowchasers puts it on.
