I beat on one of those EcoBoosts for a good 12 hours (straight) or so this summer, I wasn't disappointed. Power was great, and somehow it didn't overheat!

The seating position sucks balls. You're forced into a hunched over position unless you tilt things WAY back.

This is a night and day difference from the normal V8 F-150s. Those can all go to hell and burn there. While the 08-11 models make a fantastic car (gas mileage and ride), if you actually do anything remotely pickup-like with it, it overheats and dies on the side of the road. This happens EVEN AT 35-45 DEGREES trying to drive across a stubble field.

Until the Eco-Boost proves itself even more worthy than it did, I WILL NOT be buying an F(word)-150.

I'm sure the Flyin' Alero would pull that 25' shit...once I had a push start.

I call BS. Ford has been making the 5.4 and 4.6 for a long time. While they may have had their quirks from time to time, they weren't overheating. Any problems with those trucks is more likely due to your bosses poor maintenance.

The ecoboost sounds awesome, but isn't it a v6 Turbo? Has anyone towed with it? I guess I question the torque pulling a trailer from a standstill.

I didn't know you got a new truck Fagsex?

Sorry mud, your thread got jacked.

Yes it is a Turbo V6, with impressive specs.

It tows 3600 lbs like my Powerstroke did. I will let you know how it does with four sleds in the traiiler. I figure total weight should be around 7500 lbs. Then add in four guys and their gear in the truck itself. I will give you my opinion, apples to apples compared to the diesel, after the first trip north. No plans to tow my trailer out west this year so that comparison may have to wait.

I still have my Powerstroke in the fleet. I decided to go back to a gasser because I was driving the truck I needed a half a dozen times a year instead of the truck I need on a daily basis. Better fuel economy, better ride, and lower fuel cost. If Ford did not offer the Ecoboost in the F150, I would still be driving the diesel more than likely.

I'm with ya there... Never overheated a Ford F150 yet driving or towing even in 110 degree heat with AC on full...

The Ecoboost is a great all around package... it gives you the best combination of the two worlds with out sacrificing too much... It gives great economy, but when power needed it has amazing grunt for what it is.

I've driven 3 different 2009-11 F150s, and they've all overheated on me. Even when I've tried to baby them.

We don't skip or scrimp on maintenance. Ever. It's gotta go when we turn the key.

You need a touring sled with one of those Equinox trailers for the dogs. Gotta make mama happy.

16'+5' V-nose, all aluminum, 1798 pounds. I think it'll fit 2 longs and 1 short, but I don't quite think it'll fit 3 long? Might have to try at the group ride so I know for sure.
