Default Exhaust for my 96 polaris sport.. Will one from an xcr work?

I want to put an pipe or something on my sled. I have the 96 polaris sport touring 440 fan. Yes i know there isnt much to do with a fan but i was thinking about a pipe for now til i get another sled. I found a pipe from an xcr 440. Not sure on year yet or if its aftermarket whcih i doubt it is. But its a pipe and can. If that would fit in my sled and is stock would it still be better than my stock pipe i have now? I want an aftermarket but i cant find any used and new is just way too much for me. Ill let you know if i find out if its stock and what year when i find out..

Alright im almost positive its a stock pipe cuz he posted a pic on his ad for the pipe. Here is the link for it..

http://stcloud.craigslist.org/rvs/588166570.html

It only shows the pipe and not the can or whatever. But is this worth 50 bucks and do you think its better than my other stock pipe? And would it make better power for me? Any help would be great..

Ok he emailed me back and said its a stock pipe but aftermarket can. Does it matter if the pipe is stock? Will a stock pipe and aftermarket can still make better power?

No i cant afford a 350 dollar pipe.. Thats a bit much and if i could get that kinda money to spend on a pipe i would go for a new sled. I just dont have that kinda money and just trying to do anything i can to my sled to improve it for now until i can get something else. Got any other ideas of anything i could do to upgrade a little bit?

not without spending money. before you spend 200 on this sled, you are better off to sell it for whatever you can, you can find nice 98 xc 600's and 700's and rmks for the 1000-1500 for very nice machines, and they will be 10 times what you have now.

Ya im gona try and get another sled over the summer. I think my winter is done for now. I dont think we are getting anymore snow. But i had an idea i was thinking about buying maybe an older sled, Maybe an rxl or something like that and over the summer upgrade the suspension and maybe some other things. Will it ride as nice as a newer sled? Im thinking around the years of 91-95 or so.. Will it ride as nice as my 96 if the suspension is all upgraded. Or am i better off waiting and just buy a sled with everything. I was tihnking about the older one cuz its cheaper and i would like to work on one over the summer but i dont know if i will be happy with an older one than what i have now. What are your thoughts?

you will spend more money in the long run on an old sled that is hard to keep running. you are better off to upgrade a few years. even by going to a sled in the same body style but a newer bigger engine and better all around. lot more reliable and fun to drive.
