Default Very very dim Head light

Just replaced the bulb... Did not get brighter.

High and low beam works but seem to be half as bright as before...connot ride at night.

Handwarmers stoped working also.

Need some suggestions on where to start and how to trouble shoot the electircal problem.

Thanks

WW

Same happened to me and my handwarmer wires were shorting out on the hand guards. Unplug the hand warmers and the other non essential power consuming accessories and see if the lights come back. Then plug in each one one at a time to see which is causing the problem. If after unplugging all accesories and the light stay dim check to make sure you have 14 vdc at the regulator if not try unplugging the regulator and see if the lights get brighter, if they do the regulator is bad.

That would be vac not vdc unless the sled has a battery.

It would be the regulator if the lights got brighter. If the lights are dimmer then check the ground for the headlight. odds are it is broken or corroded.

What's wrong with an old thread? At least it's a post.
