Just FYI I've rode an RX-1 (laughable at best) and an Apex, not a bad sled but still doesn't hold a candle to a 150 HP smoker!!

I think Johny Skeptical with that stupid fucking hat and that cheesy "Fargo" yeah sure you betcha accent made anyone who lives north of the Iowa border look like they were inbred!! Some of Johnys claims were pretty good though, "Todays 4 strokes are COMPARIBLE to 2 strokes in weight", the whole stinky 2 stroke crap, TEN dollar a quart oil!! The sad thing is some of those Yammi boys probably sat around jerkin off to that video!!

Since we're arguing now, I think we need to do some clarification.......

I nominate Timmy's old outdated Triple Vs. a new Yamaplow

Thats the way Yamaha does their advertisements, so lets just see how it works in real life

Let's do it! About the only thing they would have me on is front suspension, ergos and fuel mileage. But mine cost about 1/4 of what a new comparable Yamaha would.

I love the arguements over the years. when the rx1 first came out everyone said its way to heavy and underpowered.. and it was along with a poor suspension. But then they upped the hp some and lost a lot of wieght. Now the apex runs with the 1000 two stroke on the market in real world lake races.

Then people also said yea but the 4 stroke will never make as much hp as a two stroke. They also said that a 4 stroke will never handle bumps as well because of the extra wieght. Polaris comes out with a 750 cc 4 stroke that makes more hp than the 800 twin that they had. But then the people say "but it has a turbo on it". who cares it makes the same hp at a similar hp as the 800 two stroke polaris had. and it rides just as nice as the other sleds on the market. Yep its heavier but it still is a very nice riding sled. Noone can argue that fact. Especially if you are coming off an older sled.

^^^I am def. not saying the four strokes have not come a long way, but you have to admit the video they made was stupid. I would like to have a four stroke for the fuel milage and the oil but I am not spending 10,000 dollars to get one. I had a hard time putting out 5400 for the one I have.

video was very stupid. It was a humerous aproach at marketing but I dont think yami realized how much they gave up in sales or marketing power. If they would have had a new f-1000 and whatever from polaris and doo there. doing honest field test, the yami wouldnt have to win in every catogory. But show how there new 4 stroke can run with the other big boys on the trail and some lake drags. that would be a very good advertisement.
