Default yz80 overflow on carb

So I'm new to dirt bikes. Just did a rebuild. New crank and complete top end and all gaskets etc.

There is an "overflow" on the carb bowl. I notice it leaks gas even when its just sitting there after being ran. And I have no idea why. I pulled the carb and checked float height and it was within spec.

Its also super hard to get started the first time. Once Its warmed up it starts up like nothing..

Anyone have any input? Been a while since I've been on here haha. Shit looks dead around here now!!

Check the needle valve seat too, it might have some varnish build up.
Add some seafoam to the tank and shut off the fuel valve when the bike is not running.
My CX did this for a bit at the beginning of the season and it stopped after a couple of tank full of gas.

Thanks for the reply. Ill pull the carb again and check it out.

I think I need to go down in jet size. I couldn't read the numbers on the jet it came with so I put a 300 in it as that's what the manual said. Went down to 290 and plug was still pretty wet.

I'm wondering if its running right tho. At low end it has very little power but once you get those rpm's up this thing RIPS. I understand it doesn't have as much power at low end but I think it should have more than it does.

I was also just thinking about the pipe. It says R&D on it so its not stock, prolly requires different jetting

You will have to do plug chops.

Sounds like a sticky float, or like OCR said, a worn or sticky needle/seat.
