Default Question about gauges

I want to upgrade the looks of my gauges on the Ultra, I like the white ones like the gen 2 and edges, how much of an abortion would it be to get the newer style gauges in AND working properly??

As long as you have 5" gauges it's as simple as unplugging old and plug in new. Your either a 2 or 6 pulse system which is very common, the white gauges would be the same.

I thought that was the case too.....I wrecked a speedo cable trying to make the switch. If you have a straight connection out the back of the speedo, those white ones are easy to find.
My Triumph has an extra piece on the back of the speedo. the cable comes screws into the side of it. There was no way of routing the cable so it wouldn't have a bend in it with the straight out the back one.
Tried it and snapped the speedo cable.

So if the speedo cable comes out the back straight the swap shouldn't be a problem??

The dummy lights are different on some as well. You'll have to just check the lights versus wire colors to make sure everything is the same, and make changes if needed. I didn't know about the speedo cable though.

I did the same with mine. I switched the '00 XC7SP gauges to my '00 XCR8 and the problem was that the speedo cable had too much of a bend and causes the cable inside to twist and break. Just as ACEXCR stated. I wonder if Polaris has a longer cable for it so it wouldnt be too short and bent as much. ANYONE? WL
