Default Driveshaft and Jackshaft Bearings

Dealing with a 1996 Ultra SP chassis here and I know the bearings in the chaincase are 6205's. But I see that the Polaris replacement is like $60 for the pulley side. Dennis Kirk claims part #1252 will replace the bearings on the pulley side, I guess I am not too confident when I look at the picture they have there. Just curious if you guys have any thoughts.

They probably have one picture posted for various models. I know they do that with parts I've looked at. If Dennis Kirk claims it's the bearing you need I'd believe them. I've been ordering parts from them for year and never once had a problem.

Edit: They have a tech line you can call. I called it once for the same reason. What they had pictured didn't look like it would mount up right. The guy was very knowledgable and told me that they just pictured another part. I'm sure they could tell you if that's the case if you called and explained your delema.

Why don't you just drive to a local bearing shop and have them look for a replacement.

I balked at the high prices of bearings when replacing all of them in my skid last year, I telephoned a bearing shop and got MUCH better quality at half the price.
Do you know you can get ROLLER BEARING bearings for the chaincase and drive/jackshafts? No kidding. Never replace a bearing again.

Get over to a bearing shop early in the morning so you can spend some time with the guys looking through the books.

I have had good luck at the local napa or orileys store, take in the bearing you have and they can match it, alot of times they are a lot cheaper, but, the chain case seals are actually cheaper through polaris than our local napa store,

as an example, at polaris it was like 20 dollars per bearing for the water pump, i got them at orileys for just over 20 dollars for the two. but it took 15-20 minutes to find the right ones.
