Default Yammi the fastest sled in the world?

Your damn right they are. They just set the confirmed and legal record of 210plus MPH. They were hoping to break the 200 barrier, I guess they did and then some. This is the same mill that pushed the stock apex full bodied sled to 180ish.

Pretty cool.... cant imagine how much tme and money went into something like this.

Well nothing on the chassis is OEM yamaha, maybe they used the OEM crankcase though? So part of the engine might resemble a stock unit.

It runs 180ish with the stock apex plastic on it. It is an apex chassis, motor, gear box, secondary (thats no poo primary on it) - just has several hundred thousand dollars of additional gear and work put into it.

Anyone else can step on up when they want, until then the Yammi is king. For now anyways.

first this record was not on ice. second there are many snowmobiles that can reach those speeds when your going 5-6000 feet. third the way they measured the speed was by GPS so......not impressed.

setup billet mod for salt flats and take the record!!

in comparison kevin, the yami did 200 in a mile run and billet mod does 160+ in 1000' and modzilla did 192 in 2000' 8 mph less in 3000' less distance.

Hey go for it.... I hope somone beats it, I hope anyone beats it. Its just cool.....

.... but what happens when Hurricane puts the 605hp motor into that yammi chassis? Will be cool to see.

Fast sleds are fast sleds regardless. But right now the record is what it is, anyone can step up and shatter it any time.

One thing I have learned about since I started racing at 9 years old - all the could haves, should haves, would haves dont mean nothing until the rubber meets the road

I think that yammi motor that set the record was only a little over 400 (just going from memory could be way off) how many sleds at the ice drags make that? More than a couple. The HP wasnt some big feat, overcoming the wind resistance was in itself. Im not that hip on HP in sleds yet, but there is something to be said for a sled maintaining that type of HP over that length of run. I know a few of my drag car motors would have self destructed at 1600 ft let alone 5,280 feet.

I realize its not a polaris, so nobody will give them any credit.

But just remember, everyone can talk about doing it. But until its done, what is - is what is.

it would be neat to see dave break 180+ mph!!! its fun watching a full bodied sled run with laydowns!!

Not trying to take anything away from those guys and congrats to them for doing what the did. What I meant by saying I wasn't impressed was the fact that if they truly want to say they have the fastest Snowmobile (snow-machine as its called now) then lets see it on the ice in the winter. Leave the asphalt to the bikes! It is a snowmobile right? But all that said, its still cool. Now maybe the time has come that we do some work and show what we got for them on the ICE in the U.S.?
