Cooke City Sinclair posts riders pics so you guys who haven't been there can see what it is like. I was there right after Thanksgiving and the snow was at least 5' deep up in the mountains. No one hit anything under the snow. We'd have to ride in from the "parking lot" but it is only 10 miles or so.

I am in one of the pics, I think it is about 10 up from the bottom in November with a large group on my old M6.

OK are we going to call the Walden, CO the group western ride, or we gonna do another somewhere else.

I'm easy, as long as I'm riding.

Vertical are you going to come to the walden ride? I'm still game for another one but wouldn't be able to do it until the beginning of march, and maybe even the beginning of april. But drivetime will really be the ultimate deciding factor for me on any other trips. The further east the better the chances I can make it.

I'm going to try to be there. We've decided to spend some road time next season and try to ride every area in WY. if we can. Not know every area, just ride there a weekend and see what it's like.

Not till fall for me, though I'd love to hit the Bighorns, I know it'd be too easy to tear some more shit up. Or worse, blow that new motor. It'll be a fresh season soon enough, until then I'll work all I can and get my sled funds built back up for next year.

Seems like '08-'09 sled funds will need to be a bit fatter than last years. LOL!

Hey, that picture is about 4 or 5 miles from the house I lived in two winters ago. The three mountains on the left are Fred's Mt., Mary's Nipple, and Peaked Mt. That is the ski area I've spoken of before. The mountains to the south, or the right of the picture, are the Spring Creek and Darby Canyon areas. I've had some extremely deep sledding days up in those hills!

^^^It all depends on if it's snowing there at that time. I hope to be in my winter location again this year, but I might not be able to swing it. If I am in Wyoming, I'll probably be able to go if gas prices ease a bit. Crude oil has been plummeting recently so maybe there is hope for my sledding habit this season. If gas is $5.00 a gallon, I'll pay the ski hill $500 bucks to let me ride the lift all season. I don't know how much sledding I'd do if each weekend of riding costs $150 and it costs me $500 to tow my sleds out west.

By Jan. yeah it should be decent riding over most of the west.... maybe not the best, but decent. I know I'll be riding by then no problem.

So do we have any clue where the group ride is going to be than? West Yelly is my backyard so that would be really nice. Cooke isn't far either, and it is always good around that time.

There will actually likely be multiple rides. I know of 1 in CO. around New Years, 1 around Grand Lake (I think) for Rip'ns memorial late Jan/early Feb., and maybe 1 other somewhere in WY if that fag Cuzz comes out to ride.

Providing I get my medical issues in order, I'm game for just about anywhere in the west. At least for a 1 day ride. Works gonna make it hard to do multiples. (Unless I get snowed in somewhere, hate when that happens)

I know you live out there and see the weather everyday, but when I try to shoot for the snowed in excuse out there you guys have the road cleared with in hours. Take out some of those plows you have, might work better.
