Default 1998 Artic Cat 600 efi starting problems

Hey Guys im new on the web just wondering if i could get some help. On my 1998 zr600 efi i picked it up for really cheap with a bad stator so fixed that and now it has spark but only for like one second then stops the motor will fire and pop but wont start just wondering what you think it is thanks please let me know asap thanks i wanna get it out of the garage. thanks alot Buddy

are you sure your getting fuel? are the plugs wet or dry? what if you dribble a little gas down the plug holes, the sled should fire and die,

Its getting fuel the plugs are wet but even when you pull the plugs out and set them on a head bolt to check the spark it only sparks once and no more.?

Check the ecu led when it is cranked over, it may be flashing a trouble code.
I might hazard a guess that the ignition timing sensor is malfunctioning.

I just got done working on a 1999 Zl with the same problem. Put your plugs on the head bolts as if you were checking for spark and then take the handle bar pad off and unplug the kill switch wiring. We found the problem to be a intermittent short in the kill switch itself. Good luck!

actually the guy i got it from actually unhooked that already because he broke it. But i tried it anyhow does something have to be pluged in there in order for it to start? Man i can see why i dont ride artic cats haha jk

Tried that and also the guy that i bought it from had busted the kill switch off does something have to be plugged into where it disconnects from in order to start? and on the bottom of the ecu when pulled over it flashed red? does taht mean there is a problem?
