if you collect parts over the summer to do the "stormy" upgrade, its pretty cut and dry, we could do it in a weekend pretty easy.

for a custom sled it depends on how custom, if you are going to use an existing frame, and then just match a front and rear skid to it, fit an engine and pipes to it, fit a seat to it, yeah it can take some time, but its well worth it.

I was thinking a Wedge Chassis, Ultra Engine, edge rear skid (136 or 144 havent decided), a very tall riser, an Ultra Hood, and some short seat.

I am thinking a 1.75 track too.

with a wedge you will like a fusion seat, drop and roll on the chain case, light wieght hood, chrome moley front end, steerig loop, steering post.
you wouldnt like a shorty seat, to wide, not any higher than stock, and they push you into the tank.

for a off trail sled a 146 cobra or any longer track with a 1.5 lug would be fun! for an off trail sled the shortest i would go is 144.

I would go with a built storm engine before an ultra engine, xcr 800's are to spendy, if you look around you might be able to find a used 1000 cc storm cheaper than an xcr800 engine?

I just guess I figured I could get quicker and easier power out of the Ultra. The reason I was thinking a 136 or 144 is because I might take it on trail too.

it will cost the same to build an ultra vs a storm engine. but, for the storm i can get pipe blanks, fit them and size them according to the rpm of the porting that the engine has done. build some 8700 rpm pipes for a 96-98 storm engine!!! with good work elsewhere it could be 180+ hp for the trail!! a 146 cobra will easily trial ride.
