Looks like we ended up with 10 - 15" of wind-blown snow in Gillette area. Last 48 hours have been interesting. Snowing heavily, wind blowing 40-50 mph, then Monday overnight power went out. Pretty interesting staying warm in an RV with no electric to power heaters. I ended up hooking my truck to RV batteries to keep them charged and keep trailer from freezing. Did manage to burn about 15 gallons of fuel thru sled in last 2 days.

Cable/internet is down for our area, roads have pretty much been cleared by this morning. I'll post up some pics when I get them all downloaded. Hope the mountains got some of this to replenish snowpack.

I'll be here until late 2009, unless I get hooked up on a job closer to home.

But yeah, certainly until then.

27 inches of powder in the last 4 days. Calling for 9 to 17 inches more in the next 24 hours. 105 inches of base right now. Could be epic conditions tomorrow.

^^^ Not fair ..... that's not your snow, you're just borrowing it.

Glad to hear you guys are getting some good spring storms, it looked kind of iffy there for a week or so.

We've still got "hard as concrete" snow everywhere, plus forecast is calling for another 6" - 14" for the area in next couple days. Black Hills to get in excess of 2' on northern end. Looks like I need to find some more 110 octane.........

We have freezing fog right now, under a Blizzard Warning right now, tommorrow should be interesting.

Quote:
Statement as of 3:15 PM MDT on March 29, 2009

... Blizzard Warning in effect from 6 PM this evening to 6 PM MDT
Monday...
... Winter Storm Warning is cancelled...

The National Weather Service in Rapid City has issued a Blizzard
Warning... which is in effect from 6 PM this evening to 6 PM MDT
Monday. The Winter Storm Warning has been cancelled.

Snow will develop across northeast Wyoming this evening and become
heavy at times later tonight and Monday. Total storm accumulations
of 8 to 14 inches are expected before the snow ends Monday night.
In addition... northerly winds of 30 to 40 mph will create
widespread blowing and drifting snow and make travel nearly
impossible.

A Blizzard Warning means the combination of snow... blowing snow...
and strong winds capable of producing dangerous whiteout
conditions are imminent or highly likely.

We're just under a Winter Weather Advisory for the time being - 40% chance of snow tomorrow, then 60% on tuesday, with another chance of about 40% on Wednesday.

Snowing and blowing like mad here. Too much airborne snow to try to ride yet, maybe late today it will ease up on wind. Looks like maybe 6" on top of setup snow from last weeks blizzard.

Understand there are 3 more storms lined up. If jet stream stays as it is now, we'll be getting steady snow all week.

You have to love springtime in the west.......

We're forecast to get another small impulse tomorrow and still another towards weekend. Home has been getting small amounts almost daily, looking forward to getting at least 1 more ride in there. Depending on what April brings, May should be doable, may just have to trailer further in.
