Default Polaris 650 - How can I find the year?

I've acquired a 650 triple. Full details can be found at my previous and incorrectly titled thread HERE

I didn't get much for help over there - other than the suggestion to try you guys.

There's a sticker on the water pump cover which has this on it:
SER.NO.
9103634

PROD.NO. EC650PL00321711
BY FUJI HEAVY IND.LTD

There also appears to be a number or something cast on the crankcase under the water pump, but I can't make out what it is.

So anyway, any ideas as to what year it is? Or, what I need to do to find the year?

And, if I were to try to sell this engine, any ideas as to what it's worth?

Thanks for any help!

That appears to be a 93.

How does the 580 compare to the 650? I've got a line on a '93 XLT 580 with a blown motor. Would the 650 bolt up?

650 has more potential. The XLT engine in 93 was good, but a built 650 will do better.

the_hog would know if the 580 will bolt into its place.
