could i put in the 285cc kit and run it in the open class?

Already whoop on my buddy brandon's 06 yz450F in drags under 1000 feet... then i run out of gears lol

Only 400' drags dude. There are alot of guys that run big bore kits without manning up to it. You could run the 250 class and any above class you want to.

so what your saying is i should drop a 12/51 sprocket combo on it and start in 3rd or 4th gear? ;)

3rd gear wholeshots are the way to go in a 400' drag.

can't with the setup i'm running. i can easily do a 2nd gear start.

and when's the last time you won a race using a 3rd gear start? lol

I had my Suzuki geared for 2nd gear wholeshots. The guys I know that race dirtbikes, all wholeshot 3rd. I tried and couldn't pull it lol.

i'm running 14/49 right now. suppose if i threw the 51 back on i could 3rd gear
