I might have a hard time with a week unless I'm finished over here. But not like you guys couldn't swing it yourselves or with Jason after being shown around a few days.

From here Tog is about 5.5 hours away, Alpine about 3, Utah about 2, Snowies would take 3-4, & Bighorns about 6-7. Leaves all sorts of options open.

I will consider a ride with you guys, but I would probably be flying out and definitely renting a sled.

If you are coming out I-84 it's probably a 2 or so hour difference because you won't be heading north from the freeway to the Montana border, but rather staying on the freeway to Boise.

Bring it!
Talking crap will not get you unstuck or prevent the stuck.
Besides, in the mountains, if you aren't getting stuck at times, it means that you were too big of a pussy to try the good hills etc.
Keep in mind that we don't ride trails and I do ride in the tight trees on the sides of mountains.
You bring it, Pussy Cakes.

I hear ya,
2 things though:

1, Read the title of thread, It's an invite for me to be able to share what I've got here with you guys. No biggie, but I don't want to give up on that.

2, Google says 12 hours 58 mins going from Kuna, ID to Gilette, WY and it's like Vert said, why drive that far to ride less when I can ride the same type of terrain and snow here and be home for dinner. (I paraphrased, but you get the idea)

Try Kemmerer, WY. I would want to do it from there if I was guiding. Horns are OK, but I know my home riding range far better than the Horns. And we don't have as many of those damn boulders over there.

I get -
Driving directions to Wyoming 83101
436 mi about 7 hours 7 mins

from Google Maps

Sorry, didn't mean to jack your thread.

7 hours isn't as bad. I'll kick that around to do some riding with you,
but still want to share what I've got here as well if I can.
I didn't considder it jacked, but was just clarifying my intentions while in the early planning stages.

Depends on when we eat.
It get's dark here around 6 and the furthest place we normally ride is 3 hours drive.
That normally makes a later dinner of pizza or other delivery type at 9 - 9:30

We've done that a few times. We've got a Mom & Pop pizza place that has some of the best I've ever had. Our trailhead is usually a 30 minute drive unless it's storming or has been and the crews haven't hit the road yet. I've had it where it took nearly 2 hours(Decided I hadn't been stuck enough riding, so I stuck truck in a snow drift. Lots of digging and jerking)

I've had the snow plows come by and leave the giant berm accross the entry to the parking lots before.
I guess they don't have time to get us out when it drops a couple feet during the day.
Nothing like having to dig through that after riding all day.

You know guys,
The airlines are doing the cheap tickets and you can land right here in Boise,
No taxi fairs needed, I'll pick you up at airport,
Cheap motels here are in the 35 and up range,
Do it that way and rent,
In McCall, they will drop your sleds and pick them up right at the parking lot we go to.
It turns into a very affordable sled vacation to some good riding in areas you've never seen before with a good tour guide who won't charge you.
Pretty hard to go wrong.

Probably end up costing less than driving out if it were done well in advance. Who knows what fuel prices are going to do this winter.

Pretty much what I was thinking.
The added fuel used in pulling the sleds adds up really fast.
Rentals puts them on 600cc mountain sleds for less money and they'd be better set up that way as well.
Something about doing it right and seeing everyone hooked.

I couldn't convince Fagsex to go to Idaho. You should come down to Tog.
