Bought the switchback Friday.
Had a rain day so I went down and looked at it. 125 lbs. in each cylinder and no scratches anywhere. The track is like new and the belly pan doesn't have a scratch in it.
Needs a cleaning and polishing up on the tunnel. Going to take the skid out and clean everything up, go through the chain case and check all of the bearings.
Very happy with the sled.
Got it for $3600.00 with a clear windshield and another belt. Now I can go off trail without worrying too much about wrecking something.
Got the Classic almost done then I will start on the switchback.

should be an awesome sled grease!

it was only the Pro-X's that had that dent in the exhaust to clear the shock tower correct?

OK, here are some pics. Sled is dirty now but a little elbow grease and some powder coating and it will look just fine.

Sled still looks good with the miles it has on it. Thats why I'm spending the money on it for another motor.

I like how he says "powder coating" like we say "polish with Mother's". Must be rough to do your own!

And how many engines/water pump belts? lol

First motor went out at 9800 miles (water pump belt broke).
Second motor went out at 5300 miles (bad gas took out mag side)
This will be the third motor and hopefully the last>

They are 1999's, and by the looks of it, Grease has a 2000-2001 sled with either a 600 or 700 mill in it.

My parents sleds spoiled them for a long time grease... My dad's Formula 583 blew the motor 3 years ago when it had 17,000 on it, it was the first time it went. My moms is still running on the original motor at 15,500 as of this year. Being Ski-Doos they don't have water pump belts as they are gear driven. To be honest I think the tracks have been the biggest maintenance they've done on those sleds prior to the blown 583 motor.

Old yes, vintage.... Yeah ummmm, no. Considering the suspension changes in the early 90's I'll pass on vintage.
