Question Good off road helmet?

They pretty cold for riding or no? Was wondering what some good ones are for snowmobiling. Will any MX helmet work?

I was looking at an HJC SPX helmet, anyone have one? Like it or no?

Thanks fellas.

I wear my MX helmet with a cheap balaclava and double lens goggles. My temples get frosty at anything below -15 or so and my visor likes to grab the wind and strangle me with the chin strap at about 80-90 MPH. But I also have a low windshield that's useless. Other than that no problems. I love the field of vision I get vs. a fullface and the visor works good for a blast shield when I hammer a drift.

^^ Pretty much the same set up I use and I think it works pretty well. I rarely get above 60 though so I don't know about the strangulation part but the visor does work well to keep the big faceshots from going down into the helmet.

Agreed, I wear the same mx helmet I ride my atv with. I do wear a full face when I plan to trail ride though. I've got frostbite on my temples a few times from wearing a mx helmet when it was too cold out, and that was with wearing a balaclava.

Thanks fellas. I just ordered an HJC SPX from Dennis Kirk for $117. Seemed like a pretty good deal. I think the helmet listed for close to $200 as a new model last year. Wanted something I could use for the ATV and other toys too. We'll see how it works out. I still have a closed face helmet for the trails and really cold days, but it's pretty beat up and fogs up bad all the time.
