How often should one have their tach calibrated? Isn't something that you really think about having checked. Do they actually fall out of calibration, and if so by alot?

Boy I'm glad this is about snowmobiling. I was afraid it was about increasing awareness about the need to have the doctor stick his finger up your ass.

I assume your little device throws out a frequency equivilent to 8500 RPM in which case what does the waveform look like? AKA is it two Hz per RPM for a twin and three for a triple? Or is it just throwing a straight 141 Hz to get the 8500 RPM?

I would think after having it done once you would be good to go.

Bryan I have seen new tachs off by a couple hundred rpm but most are pretty accurate.
