Talking 3-20-08/1st day of spring on Tug Hill

My friend Josh and I went up and unloaded at The Flat Rock Inn in Lowville at 9 Thursday morning after a hearty breakfast at Moms Restaurant in West Leyden.
We started out going NW towards Montague and found that the trails were quite recently groomed in that direction. We raced around there awhile then went for a beer back at Flat Rock. Then decided to go south and check that out and it was awesome, too. We went down to Highmarket Sports and topped off with 94 octane. The huge snowbank is in front of Highmarket Sports. We tore off 150 miles in the 6 hours that we had the sleds unloaded. There were no dirt sightings anywhere on any trail. Some trails had no bumps at all and the worst we saw was slightly bumpy where we could still easily do 50-60 mph. It was wide open everywhere today. The best riding conditions of the year.:p:The snow will be there for a few more weeks easily I'd say.

That's Josh in the pictures except the guy in the hole in the snow is me:-*

The only bad thing is the other wheel bearing went in my trailer today and I have no snowbanks to help load the sled in the back of the truck.:'(

Thank you groomer gods

Enjoy the pictures friends...I really like the last one.

UH OH not this again, LMAO.

Just kidding, but for having so much snow so late in the season.

Have fun while you can. That last picture is pretty kickass.

Ahhhhh. I shoulda made my sick day Thursday also.

I was able to log about 60 miles in Old Forge on Wednesday, in the rain lol.

But, I'll agree they still have feet of snow, groomers had been out so trails were flat, but wet. (My carbs didn't particularly care for the wet riding day, lol) We were the only four sleds out all day. (or, were we the only four idiots out all day? ) Hope for another few weekends of "last rides" for this year.

I've only been to Flat Rock in the summer for watercross.

fuck em' Ripn......go home sick right now I can see from the Absolute Snowmobile web-cam that Daikers got a few inches of fresh last night. Even got a couple inches all the way down here.

SHhhheeeeeeeiiiiiiiiiittttttt.....If I lived as close as you do to snow I would be out every day/night. I'd have 4700 miles instead of only 2700 this year.

I am currently trying to scrape enough dough together for another ride this weekend. Now taking donations for 1 more sacred spring time ride. Donations can be made by credit card to Highmarket Sports in the form of gas and Amsoil credit.:D
