Default 101 MPH In The Quarter

I was finally able to run my xcr-800. According to my Garmin 76cs my highest speed was 101 mph. I also have the run fully recorded on a Spydereye digital helmet cam. Including the embarrassing two (2), throttle openings where the engine almost dies. I need to set the idle properly.

I will post the video on YouTube and include a link as soon as I get the flick from the guy from whom I borrowed the camera. I will also post the distance and speeds in the 52.8 foot increments my GPS records as waypoints. Finally, I will be able to look at rpm, speed, and EGT temps for a full run.

I know the speed was kinda low, but it is 47* F outside right now, the river has 3/4" of slush over soft ice, and I have done no tuning of any kind to my sled since I got it back about 10 days ago. If I had the clutches aligned and dialed in, torque stops properly set, suspension properly set (it doesn't seem to have any movement), and the cooling issues take care of, at 10* F, I think I could crack into near 108-109 mph. You know, I don't even have the handlebars properly centered.

getting a 144 track with a big skid to 100 mph is a good run. get the suspension dialed in and play a little and yeah, 105 in the 1/4 is doable.

For some reason my GPS cannot communicate with my computer, keeps telling me the COM port doesn't exist, and MapSource won't open any of my previosuly saved GPS files. I have to call Garmin Monday to get it straightened out.

No more runs for me this year. 45* F outside and the snow is going away really fast. Looks like tinkering for the summer now.

I wonder what green grass looks like?
