Question only runs on one cyclinder

i got a 71 moto ski capri 399 twin,im only getting fire on the pto side, ive tried swithing the coils on it pto to mag, then she wont start just back fires ,does that mean i need new points and condensers?

Probably.
See if you are getting any power ahead of the coils first, could just be a bad coil.

just tried it no spark from mag ,and good spark from pto
