Made up my mind 99% anyways. I got to make a few phone calls in the next couple nights. Talk to a few guys.
Going to bracket race the Ape. In a few months used pieces should be hitting the classifieds. If anyone see something I may need, drop the link into this thread.
Right now need skis, track, and skid. Wether it be a tar skid or a standard mono shock I convert.
If all goes well and I enjoy this I think I will look for an older RX-1 and build that platform into all out bracket sled. They are getting cheaper and cheaper these days. Seeing them go for less than 3k - part out what i dont need and pick up the stuff I do need. Rebuild motor to bigger and better specs and shold be a easy low 10 second player with my fat azz on it. I realize it may be faster but we will see wehre it runs the best consistency wise.
Will definatly be trying to learn as much as I can over the winter.
if you can do some fabricating you can get the ski wheels from hiperf.com
if you want to go cheaper you can run a 15 inch wide track, remove the hyfax and add wheels to the rear skd. usually at haydays you can find one proline or racing rear skid to fit the 10" wide rear skid.
If the boner police are here I need a lawyer.

Well I think tomorrow we are headed to the dragstrip to check out a Yamaha bracket set up. He is from TY and is the one that won on Pinks racing his Apex. Runs 9.5s in the qtr with no turbo, or internals, just a lil bit of NOS 75hp I guess.
but we are going to take a look at his set ups and get a bunch of pics of the cool down cart etc, and chassis set ups.
Well I will be converting my trail sled for the summer. If I enjoy it and figure it out, then maybe I will build a tar only sled. I would probably use an RX1 type chassis as they seem to be a little more betta I think they are just easier to work on and get to things. May be a little better aero too as with the Ape your sitting up higher etc....
Heck they are going cheap right now, there is one on TY for sale with very low miles for like 2300 bucks.
Yes will be a good test. I dont think they should be able to beat them, but prime time game at lambeau in the evening anything can happen.
I think it will come down to limiting mistakes. Its a young team yet, still the youngest in the league, and it shows at times. Penalties on the O-Line have cost them some yardage adn some points. I also think they learned they cannot let up with the lead.
I just hope its a good game and close, again I dont expect them to win. But it sure would be pretty good.
The lions looked great coming out at half time, but they fizzled quickly. They have some talent - they just need to pull together better.
