Badass. Makes me miss the old sleds we used to have. Oh well, they moved onto better things...

I think she'll actually fit right next to the RMK in the back of my truck.

Ok, my mind is made up, she's coming with me this year!

Well you guys might have noted how I always have several projects on my mind....well I thought of another one a few weeks ago when I was thinking about what I will be bringing back out here after Tday.

One of those future projects was to either use my nordic, or an Elan. Drop a 440X motor or my spare 700 with the HTG's into it, my Xtra-Lite rear suspension, some plastic skis, some cromoly goodies (lots of drive train modification would be necessary for my plans) and a U cooler. Would probably be shooting for somewhere in between 120-140HP and it would only weigh about 350lbs or less. Not to mention that the old skidoos are some of the easiest sleds to carve with.

My thoughts exactly. I have some vintage stuff but I think a 1976 is just alittle too new.

Unless your vintage stuff is rare. I think a 1976 would be perfect if you could beat the hell out of it and it kept on running. I should have never sold my Arctic Cat Panther now that I think about it. That thing ran great.

1976 JD Cyclone and 1977 JD Liquifire. These sled were the epitome or tanks that you could beat the shit out of and they kept on running.

I was actually thinking of getting something alittle older. Something like the JDX or JD numbered series. There is just something about a tunnel mounted engine with the secondary infront of the engine.

A fellow JD sledder...lol. We had 2 JD sleds awhile back. One was a JDX8, the other was the same body style, but had a 340 in it I believe (JDX4 maybe?). We beat the shit out of the 340 and it always kept a tickin. The JDX8 was a bullet, but we had problems with it. Was too young to remember what those problems were...

Theres a 1971 Elan 250 for sale in traverse county, MI. Listed at $350

Too far away for me but if you take the mackinaw bridge on your way up here this fall it wouldn't be too far out of your way.

Just goes to show you don't need a 15,000 sled to have fun in the snow!!!

Cuzz, I think a SN vintage/bar hopping/titty bar ride is in order!!!
