Default Grassdrag the dragon?

I think it'll do better than the rxl at 500' grass drags, what do you think? I ripped around the yard this weekend and I want to race it lol. I already plan to swap out the track for a bigger lug so I'll have the skid out and gone through before snow flies anyways. Think it would be competative?

Even with a 136" track against shorty F7s? I rode both sleds around the yard and the rxl just doesn't have the umphhh that the dragon does down low. If it were a longer run the rxl would dominate but in short distance the dragon lays the law down on the rxl. I'm trying to talk myself out of it lol, fuck I just paid it off.

Well I'm already in improved class because it's piped. I suppose I could go back to stock, but I don't want to lol. The pipe was a noticable difference.

you have the rear 8" wheels don't cha? i would say the Dragon would be close with the F7's at the end of the race, if your reaction time is good i think the dragon should outpull the short tracks off the line.

bigger lugs on grass suck, if you can find an old used 136 track and shave it down to 1" or less.

whatched a guy with a big turbo yami with a paddle track try to race on grass, i think most 600 cc sleds would have killed him in 500 feet. he literally spun on the starting line like he was stuck. everyone was 50' down the track before he made it out of the starting gates.

They aren't 8", never measured them but I think they are 7.5-7.75". I'm not going to spend money on a smaller lug track, hell I'll be putting a paddle track on in another month. Do you guys have any suggestions for my clutching?

for serous drag, get a helix big enough that you have to drop 2-3 grams on the primary, then gear down some, and get a primary spring to get engagement up to around the 6 grand mark.

Well we went and raced yesterday.
Shane raced his KFX90 to the tune of 3rd place. Hopefully he'll do better at the lights next year lol, he got the quickest reaction time but he took off and then stopped and took off again. I asked him why and he said cause the kid next to him didn't go lmao.

I couldn't keep the front tires on the ground with my quad and settled for 3rd also.

I did race the dragon. I couldn't compete with improved ultras lol. I did take 3rd in improved 700s and I'm very happy with that considering I didn't change my gearing or clutching for the race. I was in trail form and still took 3rd, not too shabby. I beat 2 piped skidoo formula3s, I was happy with that. The one thing I did realize screaming down the track was I need a dedicated drag sled lol. I've drag raced my quad for 2 years now and while I do get a hell of an adrenaline rush I don't get my stomach tickled like the dragon did at half track. I'll have a dedicated drag sled next year and I'll probably be asking for someone to help me in the pits at haydays next year, yep that's right I'll be there!!
My wife didn't come but I asked a woman to record the first race thinking it would be my last lol. So I'll bring the camera tomorrow and upload it for you viewing displeasure.

Nice! Is the Indy 400 gonna be the donor chassis?

It should be because it's sooo lite. Next year the indy400 will be in the vintage class, my daughter already expressed her interest in racing it. I'm going to do some looking into classes and who wins what most consistantly, and what classes are the fullest and emptiest. I may use the RXL but most likely will be picking up something else for a race sled.
I've actually looked at a couple xcr800s lately lol, that would be tits. I originally looked at them for trail sleds but there isn't any shortage of xcr8s at the grassdrags so that could be an option.

If I could find a cheap IQ tunnel and bulkhead, I'd build it. I don't like the iq racers though. I'd have to cut holes in the hood for the pipes to fit a regular iq, which by the way I'm not against doing lol.

Ok here ya go, I'm in lane 2.

This is Shanes final. You can see that he starts then stops and takes off again. I thnk the little shithead would have won if he'd have kept going lol. You can even hear me tell him to go lol, he asked to me tell him right before the light turned.
