Default Minnesota Snow Conditions Thread

It doesn't look like there is a thread for this yet this year. I know Westman has been posting every ounce of snowfall for about a month already, but I don't see a thread dedicated to it. Methusaleh started this thread on SF the last two years, and since I'm from Alexandria too, I'll start it over here.

We have trace snow here in Alex right now. The edges of the lakes look rideable where the snow has blown in. The radar has me pretty stoked right now. There's a big green blob in Fargo heading down the interstate with Alex right in the bullseye. Those global warming shills on NOAA are only calling for "less than an inch" of snow, but the local radio people are saying an inch or two. If we get an inch or two, Gerbil and I are going out on the lake to do some riding tomorrow. Oooh! It just started dumping again.

The metro area is currently blanketed in three micrometers of powder. That has created prefect conditions for general dip-shittery on the roads over the last few days. The weather experts are telling us we are in store for 1 to 2 inches tonight and then a chance for a larger dump on Sunday night into Monday.

I can tolerate clueless city-asses and licenseless Somalis in Dodge Caravans crashing into everyone on the road if we get 4 or more inches, but less than that and I don't get enough snow stoke to calm the road rage.

Nope its not, its still soft. But the ground seems a little more hard, atleast in my yard i havent checked or noticed how hard the ditches are, just that the snow is soft and when i fly through that drift, its still nice and soft.

By the way it snowed here tonight a little, didnt really add anything but to the roads and sidewalks i guess.

Yah sure Vert, damn storm is tracking for Iowa again, like the farmers need more Snow in their fields!! What ever happened to the days when Northern Minnesota would get pounded, and when Spring came, the rivers would flood downtown St. Paul?? I remember when we had the big Larson boat(1997) with the tricked out 350 Chevy motor, and she would push 60-65MPH down the river to La Crosse, jet ski riders loved the wake I left!! I think it was '97 or '98 when we went through Red Wing, and the Harbor Bar was completely under Water, and the water was flowing over the dams, when will those days re-appear?? A prayer or two Mr. Preacher man

I can remember snow so deep that riding the sled straight foreward it would roll over. heck you would have to get stuck just to find the corn stalks. I remember snow early and deep we had to have a pull tractor to help pull and make a path for the corn picker. I remember as a kid watching dad have to take the loader tractor and plow snow in the field so he could make a pile spot because the snow was so deep you couldnt pull the spreader in the field.
