Default Awesome riding this weekend!!

We got pounded with 18" of fresh snow over the weekend on top of 6" base, awesome riding. Shane and I rode the dragon on the trails saturday during the storm. Went 80 miles and only saw 7 sleds on the trail the whole time. About a mile from home my fuckin check engine light started blinking. According to my list it's the exhaust temp sensor, waiting on the dealer to open so I can call them. We parked the dragon after that and took the RXL for about a 25 mile ride.
Woke up sunday to 12" of fresh snow and my phone ringing off the hook for plowing. I started plowing about 9am and didn't get home until 4.30. We managed to get into the woods before 5pm and enjoyed about a half hour of riding before dark set in. Yep it's official, plowing is definately getting in the way of riding lol. I saw sooo many snowmobiles on the trail yesterday when plowing I wouldn't have went to the trails anyways. All fuckin day I thought about my snowmobile as I drove back and forth lol.
Great riding, just sharing. Without pictures I may add.

Glad to hear it's dumping enough your plowing is taking off ....... as far as getting in the way of sledding ...... priorities.

That exhaust temp sensor seems to be a common problem from what I'm hearing.

Please give me more info Tim. I thought about just replacing the sensor because I'm not 100% sure it's covered under warranty. I talked to the dealer this morning and he said it would be 2-3 days until I get it back, I don't want to wait lol. If it were just the sensor and the part were less than $100.00 I would just do it myself and save a trip to the stealer.

As far as pictures I guess I need a camera lol. I use the wifes camera and she had it saturday while we were riding. We did talk in depth this weekend about me buying her a new camcorder and her buying me a helmet cam for Christmas lol, the plan is in motion!

Edit: On a side note Shane told me this weekend that he prefers riding the RXL. He said for 2 reasons.
#1 he said it feels tippy and the RXL doesn't, I suppose he has a point since I removed the outside idlers.
#2 I can't believe my son said this word for word, "It's too fast"! lmfao I couldn't believe he said that. I make sure when I really clamp down on the throttle that I'm sitting up against him so he doesn't slide backwards but I guess that doesn't help lol.

Nice snow jerkoff!!! You got plenty last year. You don't deserve a huge year again! A word of advice about the helmet cam. How often do you ever see good footage from a helmet cam? The professional movie makers have hundreds of hours of helmet cam footage for their annual film, and 99.8% of it lands on the cutting room floor. There's a reason for this. Take heed.

I'd assume that at least 75% of film would be useless. Are you saying that I should handlebar mount or it's not worth it?

I just talked to the local dealer $134 for the exhaust temp sensor and it is covered under the warranty. I'll have to put the stock pipe back on tonight and load it up, drop it off on my way in tomorrow.

First person is a poor viewpoint for footage. Camera bounces all over, sounds terrible and you can't really see squat. You take one video, and say, "cool", and then all the rest look the same. JIMHO

Rubi has a valid point on helmet cam. If I hadn't already bought one, I'd just go with a better handheld. All footage is going to be pretty much the same, except dismounts, oh shits, and the like. I shot almost an hour and only kept a few minutes due to it just being fucking boring......

As for the sensor, I've just heard of numerous occasions of them going out.

Well I put my stock pipe back on and dropped off at dealer tuesday morning. They called this morning and said that the "Exhaust temperature sensor" is bad and they ordered one, should have it back monday.

Did they say what caused it? Could it be an issue with the pipe making it do some funky readings?

They told me that it wasn't reading accurately. I didn't ask anymore because I've had my Aaen pipe on and don't want them asking too many questions, I have a horrible pokerface lol.

Rich our snow is almost gone lol. We got almost 2' from that storm and then fuckin rain rolled in and made a sloppy mess. We still have 6-8" but it's very crusty because it melted so much. We got 2" on top of the crust but that isn't enough for me to want to ride it. We need a few more inches and I'll be back out there. Cadillac has tons of snow but I can't go this weekend because my sister graduates from WMU with her bachelors in science.

Yes I still have the unregistered RXL. As slow as work has been the past year I've downsized to myself and one other mechanic, can't leave him alone. Last year I had 2 mechanics so it was nothing to take off spur of the moment during the week for a ride. Unfortunately I can't do that this year.
