Default Any mod ideas

I have a 96 xcr 600 triple. Does anyone have any ideas on mods. I heard that you don't want to put triple pipes on due to rpms with that engine. But changing the heavy ass stock can is alright but i cant find any just pipes. I got a 136" track conversion with a 1"1/2 paddle track. An i removed my foam under the hood for about a 1 pound loss. Any ideas and links would be helpful. Does any know where i can maybe find a stinger kit for it? Anything would be great.

You could paint it black and slap a couple Monster stickers on it, UltraStud tell's me that makes all his sleds faster. lol

The best thing that you could do to that sled is... clutch it and gear it!

You could pipe it and not clutch it to use the full RPM of the pipes. but that would be wasteful when you look at the price of pipes, even the used ones are high.

Rich... what gear set and clutch work is a good mid point for the XCR.

Is this the SP in the Aggressive chassis with individual cylinders or the standard in the wedge with a monoblock like the XLT?

you can pipe it, just if you get used pipes make dang sure they are for your exact model, if you have a 97 sp. with xctra -10, them are the pipes you have to get, xtra 12 pipes wont fit, you have to reshape the mag pipe.

before you spend money on pipes I would contact madcow on this site, he has about 5 different versions of an xlt kit depending on what you want out of the sled and how you ride.

It is the xlt monoblock. But i got a hell of a deal on it. I ride pretty hard i love to go fast and jump it. We have a lot of mountain riding in alaska and i live right at the snowmachining hub with turnagian pass and lost lake in seward and petersville. I know that i should get a mountain sled for that but it works for a poor boy. i would love to go rip in the mountains but going fast and flying high gets the blood going for now. Pipes are hella spendie cheapest i found was 800 bucks and thats not including shipping to alaska. I couldn't find a price on stingers or vforce reeds. Oh yeah i had a custom Pink Pearl made that im going to paint it soon. I'll post pics if anyone wants to see. yes i have a wife and 3 kids. no homo. And i have red bull stickers no monster stickers i heard you get more hp from red bull not monster stickers

800?? You can get used triple pipes for way cheaper than that around here. You could prolly find some for at lowest 200 in good usable shape. Ive seen them as low a 125 but had maybe a dent in one or missing the flanges or something.

I have sent stuff to Alaska before and it was pricey if it went UPS or Fed ex. That is the downfall you guys have.

I can get the aaens for about 600 bucks plus shipping. the only thing in alaska is that most shipping is air freight. spendy but usually fast!

I havent been giving out my combo on clutch parts for two reasons, 1 is that i have barely ever sold the same kit, I dont know his weight, altitude, gearing,
what he wants the sled to do.

the other reason is i dont like giving out my setups anymore. for two many years i had tons of people send me emails, "I want to buy your kit what do you use for parts"? i would tell them and then a couple days later they are posting in the classified section looking for used parts.
not to sound like a prick but i am done spending my time and money making kits and then giving it away for free.
that is why i price the kits basically for the cost of parts and shipping.

You wont find reeds for it because it is not a case reed engine. It is a piston port.

Thats the truth. I had a 1996 XLT SP, and I wish I still had it. The only reason I sold it was to better my Uncle's new Nytro...which he sold. I always thought it had plenty of power, and it has excellent reliability.

Get some UFO's for the carbs, makes big difference in throttle response. and as everyone else said, clutch work and pipes, dont be scared, the result will be well worht it, and if you jet accordingly you wont have any issues.
