Default Riding - Wyoming Style (1-24-09)

58 miles, 12 gallons fuel, worn out completely, what a way to spend a snowy Sat. Not many pics (I'll get them up later), no video this trip. Too busy riding and trying to get Escape running right. Multiple stucks, quite a bit of logging without any damage to the Polaris sleds, Doo didn't fare as well. Jason will be replacing some steering linkage on the new XP.

All in all, even with the motor problems is was a blast. Got on the snow @10 AM, just got in @ 7 PM. Starting to think I'm too old to be riding with these young guys, but it will pass as soon as the shoulder eases up.

Pics later.

Probably most of it was frustration at fighting problem. I worked my ass off to get out of that drainage we dropped in to play, LOTS of turn-outs before I got it back on top to trail. But the bright side is we played in 4-5' of untracked POW all day (and some of the night before we got to trucks), Poker run was last weekend with over 400 sleds in the area beating all the usual places up bad. We lucked out and found an area they missed.

Plus we got 10-12" of fresh during day today, another reason I got very few pics.

Sell you one that needs some tuning ........ this will be my last MOD sled. RMK(stock except pipe and can) rode circles around mine today with a rider who had never rode it(my son).

Probably right, it's a good, stout motor. Even running like shit it made it thru everything, just took loads more work to do it. I got 1st stuck because of that upper end bog. Tried turning out on climb and it just laid down before I could get it pointed downhill.

Now until you get to just above midrange, it's sweet going uphill in POW, no problem. Just don't try to get the rest out of the motor, it ain't there right now

And I don't regret it, just won't do it again.

As a side note, I got to watch a T-Phazer do some nice climbs for a 500 cc sled.

As I said above, not many taken today. And the ones that were taken weren't very good. Enjoy anyway.

Conditions look good. Much better than what I rode yesterday. Some buds invited me on a trail ride not to far from home. 120 miles of pushing myslef trying to play catch up on my mountains sled. These pics and my ride yesterday remind me of why I don't ride trails anymore.
