Default April fools ride out west?

I already wanted to do a ride out west in spring. Since Rubi posted his 'western adventure' thread, I want to be a part of it.
The way I see it I have 2 options.
I can fly out and rent a sled for 2 days.
I can talk fagsex and slanteye into carpooling for a long weekend?
Come on guys I know you want to. Mapquest says it's a 24 hr drive from my house and I'm 3 hrs from Chitown. We could leave thurday night and get there on a friday night, ride saturday and sunday and return sunday night or monday morning? My sled would be ok out there wouldn't it? Opinions? Anyone else interested, geezer, flatty, hogger?:p I've already dropped enough bombs the wife won't be surprised when I drop it on her lol.

Your sled will be fine, maybe just some minor clutching. Depending on where all this happens I'd be interested. April 1st weekend is what you're talking about? 4th / 5th of Apr.

Might be worth noting, if WY is chosen to ride in, I'd avoid Tog area this year. Snow levels haven't gotten to normal yet and it's been getting beaten up pretty good. Alpine, Afton, or further south will result in more available snow and less traffic.

I'm kinda thinking of actually riding April 4th and 5th, not including drive time obviously. It'd be nice to ride with Rubi again but not against riding somewhere closer. I know a 24 hr drive would totally suck balls. It's only 16 hrs to grand lake Co. Rubi would you consider trailering east a little for a couple days?

I can't tomorrow, it's my little sisters' Bday. Next weekend is "sled get-ready" time, and the weekend after that I do believe I will be getting the new sled in the stable. Weekend after that should be a ride in the Yoop.

Do you even know who my boss is Rich?

Mud if you're considering everyone trailering, think about Snowies. As recently as last few days they received 4' in places. Snow is just unreal.

Check locations of those top 5 depths. Columns will sort from highest to lowest if clicked on.

Battle Mountain 130.5 in
North French Creek 110.1 in
Old Battle 101.9 in
Little Snake River 93.3 in
Whiskey Park 92.3 in

Right now I'm kinda feeling everyone out. See how much interest there is. I've already checked flights and rentals available where Rubi is going to be. I'd really prefer have my own sled though, so I'm hoping some other flatlanders want to go too.

Driggs to Laramie would be a touch over 400 miles/6.5 hour for Rubi and his entourage.
Gillette to Laramie would be right at 300 miles/5.5 hours for me
Kemmerer to Laramie would be right at 300 miles/4.5 for Jason and son
Bloomingdale to Laramie would be 1,150 miles/ 17 for you.

Sucks to be you .............

Shit I just looked at actual map for your drive, you can cut that down to 15 hours no sweat. All fucking interstate the whole trip.

I've been wanting to ride there, snow depth now makes it seem even sweeter.

Really I'm game for wherever. My problem come in with these idiots I've hooked up with for work. Have to plan around their intentions to impress the world with their skills and expertise ....... NOT.

Anyway, everyone figure out the where and I'll see if I can make it.

Rich, I really do not want you feeling me! I can not make it in April. Taking the family on spring break. My wifes only true vacation each year. The Snowies are the closest mountains to the flatlands and as Vert said, they have mucho snow. What do you guys think about mid March, the 11 - 15th? I was planning on the Yoop but could be swayed if everyone was up for that weekend. We would need more than one truck and trailer though. There are already 5 committed to going west during that time frame if the conditions suck up north (myslef, Cuzz, NJ Dave, Jay, and a bud of mine Greg) . I don't care where we go but you need more than two days riding to justify the drive IMO. Three days riding is perfect, four is almost to much when you throw in the drive on top of it. Bottom line for me is that I can not make an April trip. My four place is available to use if you guys decide to go then. No hard feelings on my part if that is what is decided. I also agree it is nice to have your own sled. The Dragon will do fine. I'll be away from the computer for most of the day but will check in later this evening.

I don't think I can swing mid March. The end of March maybe, but April I'm pretty sure I can swing. Lets hear some more input from people that will actually attend(NOT Danny). I see you lurking Wolfy, you wanna ride? lol

Can't convince her to vacation in Wyoming huh?

Guess I'm lucky that way. Mine told me the other night to set up plans for Togwotee for next Christmas. Said she figured that was going to be the only way she'd get me on a vacation if it was a sledding or hunting one. Said she just wasn't ready to got watch me shoot Bambi yet, but she could do the riding.

I say the Snowies for 3 days. Two days isn't enough for that long ass drive. I have March 11th through the 16th scheduled off as of right now. We could stay in Alpine where they have gas, lodging, and a bar right there... or up on the mountain at Mountain Meadows like we did last time. I'm up for whatever.

We can get a couple locals who know the area to ride at least 1 day and show us some spots. I've not rode there, so have no idea of where good spots are.

My wife is a beach person. I took her on two sled trips and is not her thing. The last day she just ended up hanging out in the cabin. Let me know if you guys want to use the trailer and I will get to Cuzz or IBS assuming they will be going.

Damn...busted.

I'm feeling out a few ideas, early April holds my 21st - which would be one of the most kickass ways to celebrate it. But I couldn't get the university to move spring break to coincide with that important day.
