Default Rear idler max size on VE

Anyone know if I can go any bigger on the rear idlers than the 6 5/8" without a new axle?

Ummmm... measure what's on it? That's the biggest diameter you can fit without an offset axle.

Edit: Just because I think I should have added to my post....Duuhhh

There are rumors of people putting larger rear wheels on these skids; there is a bit of distance between the bottom of the wheel and the hyfax.

Fuckstick.

With new hyfax, worn hyfax, or the rail itself?

I wouldn't let the idler go more than 1/4 inch below the hifax.

You go 1/2 or over and you'll end up with a nice little curve in the end of your rails.

Are you asking about a Vertical Escape Skid? Cause I could have sworn those are factory with 8" wheels. I know mine is 8" and I don't think it's got an offset axle under it. I get back home in a couple weeks to get it, I'll do some measuring and take some pics.

I think my new skid is from a Vertical Escape or Edge; what else came 144 in 04?

if it has 6-5/8" now i have a hard time seeing that 7" would be a problem. thats only 3/16" on each radious. if right now with new hyfax you say the stock wheel barely or leaves a gap? and 8" wheel will lower that by 11/16", if you have a 1/4" gap then the wheel will only be 7/16" lower than the hyfax. but at almost a half inch lower will it ride to hard on the wheels?
