Default Speedo's turning back??

First of all I want to make it clear that the info is not being used to deceive anyone on mileage.

I want to put the black and white gauges on my 2001 XCR 800
(like the ones on the 2003's). I already have the tach and working on a speedo. I would like to try and set the mileage back to the original mileage on sled or close. Has anyone did this? Is it possible to do it? How do you do it?

Just an idea but how about hooking up the cable to the speedo, then unhooking the other end and putting an electic drill on it and spin the mileage till it comes around to the original mileage.
