I know it's a few months off, but what's the deal with this now?

Is the speed limit just in Isabella or the whole state of Minnesota?

Are we thinking UP?

Are we talking about a SledNutz group ride or the SF group ride?

I'd like to get up to the UP one of these days, but then again, I'd like to get out the Black Hills in SoDak also.

I'd like to see the UP this winter, personally. It's all within 8 houirs for me, except isabella which is more like 9 1/2 or 10. Duluth area is better.

I'm with you on this one. I'm about 4.5 hours away from Gaylord and 9-10 from the UP.
I've never been to the UP but I've heard stories about how amazing it is for riding.

I was in Houghton Lake, MI last year for an HCS ride and the snow SUCKED. Is Gaylord better?
If we do a northern MI ride it's going to cut out Wisconsin/Minnesota brothers out too....

ehhh, maybe a little better.
for some reason gaylord is right in the snowbelt across central MI
and its like the snowmobile capitol of the LP
LOTS of trails.

the UP isn't any farther for our wi/mn brothern than it is for me.
there just spoiled becuase they do't usually have to trailer to find snow.

I've been on the trails a few times in Gaylord and they remind me of riding in upper Ontario near the Quebec boarder.

Gaylord is still iffy.

If you want guaranteed snow, The UP is the place.
Hurley,WI/Ironwood MI is good as well as Munising,MI.

Alot of MN people ride Hurley/Ironwood.
Alot of people from OH, go to Munising/Grand Marias(MI not MN)

when we go to the UP we usually stay in paradise.

i agree that if were gonna schedule a ride that far in advance,
and get people to travel to the area we need guaranteed snow and that would be the UP.

they get like 200+ inches in houghton co. don't they?

the only thing about the UP that sucks is i wouldn't be able to bring the BIG BOYS.
since its too far between fuel stops.

Yes Houghton county gets hammerd as well as the munising to Paradise area.
The only thing bad I have heard about Houghton is alot of streets and alot of traffic.
best thing to do is stay further south and ride up that way.

My buddy has a 190hp T-Cat and we have never had a gas problem in the Munising area or Hurley/Ironwood.
I will admit there are a couple weird places to get gas. One is at a farmer's place, one is off the trail about 3 miles and only has 1 pump and its premium, which we run anyhow. The prices at these places is higher, because I believe there is a "recreatioal fuel tax".

Eagle river has been iffy the past few years also.
Hurley/Ironwood is closer for the MN people too.
And we have the chance of running into these ladies!! LOL!

One of them pilots a XCR 800!!!

Eagle River is not far enough north to be in the Lake Superior snow belt, so they depend on normal storm systems for snow.
