Yeah Rock... all three inches of it are here in Iowa... not even enough to cover rocks around here. The crappy ice helped, but just makes for a really rough ride.

I just got back from a trip around Clear Lake. Only went around once due to the rough ride and the fact that I need to catch a few more hours of sleep if I intend to make it though work today. I'm hoping we pick up some more snow soon. We need it before I have to kill someone!

Sorry, no pics of today... it was only 13 miles.

first good ride today. feels like someone beat the crap outa me. I dropped through the creek in the back yard, and the lakes are not to be trusted yet. We got yelled at by the cops for flying across blind driveways. all in all a good day.

I have about 50 miles so far, most of it in my yard though as the trails don't open until next Monday 12/17.

I'm not risking a wreck again this season. I'm fully intending to make it to the UP this season and I can't afford another wreck. The insurance company wouldn't like it and I don't like being without a sled for that long. This year is already shaping up to be a great snow year, I want to be able to ride it... not watch everyone else ride!

I did it!

We got just about 50 miles on this Saturday in Old Forge. The main trails were rough as shit, but once we made our way to a few of our "secret" areas, we were able to break some powder and definitely got the itch scratched.

Ugly Betty ran awesome, surprisingly so considering it was almost 30 degrees. With my new (used) exhaust system, and Y-pipe donut, I seem to have resolved a few leaks, and improved my backpressure.

I forgot my camera today (smacks self) so I will get the few pics I took up tomorrow.

I was about to smack you Rip'n for not posting pictures, but then I see you came thru!!
RMKer and I had our first ride last Saturday - 12 to 18". Did not put on a lot of miles. RMKer was breaking in his newly rebuilt engine and we took my new sled up for the 1st time to see how she would run. Did great, just a few minor adjustments to be made. Pics are posted in the Mountain Riding Thread.
Have been getting more snow this week, so will be going back out this Saturday.

^^lmao, yeah, I finally remembered my camera.

It rained yesterday, snowed just a tad this morning, so I dunno if Sat looks any good for us, but I hear a nor'easter is in store for Sunday, which means I will be "sick" on Wednesday. lol

Saturday I went a nice ride with my dad around Carlton/Duluth MN area. Trails were increadiably smooth and off trail there is about 16-20 inhes of powder to play in. We were out for about 4 hours and saw a grand total of one other sled. All in all it was one of the best trail rides I've been on in a long time.

No pictures. Too lazy for the camera as of late it seems.

Madcow is welcome to come up and use the Indy500 anytime until he gets his sled put back together.

Saturday the sled ran fine all day. Didn't spend a lot of time in the powder but when I did the sled ran great. I agree with the others that either the exhaust got plugged or that somewhere the carbs where ingesting snow. If it happens again I'll shut 'er down and take a closer look right then there as to what the problem might be.
