Default WTB - Cheap rifle scope

I need a temporary/starter scope for a .243, preferably 3x9, but I'll consider most anything for the right price.

Some dumbass at Cabelas showed me a Zeiss brand scope that was on stellar clearance, and instead of buying a 150 dollar so-so quality scope, I plan on saving my pennies for the Zeiss.

Vortec or Mueller are more in your beer budget and very good.

have a 2x7 swift or an 8x32 BSA you can have both. pretty sure I can find some Ruger blue rings to toss in also. one for varmints and one for Deer.

Wifey, $150 will buy you a nikon prostaff. Best scope for the money. I have had several and never an issue. Excellent clarity and it is a 3-9x40. If you still want the hugely overrated and overpriced zeiss I have a 2-7x33 remington scope that is brand new for $20. I can bring it to the gr.

I have a Nikon prostaff 3x9-40 that I really like. Never found a need for the really high dollar scopes like what you're saving up for.

The BDC models are fairly new. I have one on my deer shotgun. I wouldnt spend the money on it again though.

That's the only Prostaff I was able to look through. It seemed like it had a really really really narrow sight picture.

There is probably a reason that was the only one left.

While waiting to save up for a better scope on my .308, I bought the Centerpoint at Wallyworld. It's a great bang for the buck at $69 and is now on my beater AR15.

I don't have a BDC, my scope is at least 4 or 5 years old, but it's got as good of a view as any other 40mm scope I've looked through. Did you ask what the field of view was for any of the scopes you looked at? It should be printed right on the box.
